Orri
Privacy policy
Effective
Orri is a native Markdown reader and editor for macOS from Chor, currently in development. This policy covers the app and its product and privacy pages on chor.dev.
Your documents
Orri reads and saves the files you choose through macOS. Reading, editing, and Markdown processing happen on your Mac and work offline. The app does not upload your documents to Chor, connect to an account, or import documents from remote services.
Preferences and restored tabs
Orri stores appearance and editor preferences locally. To reopen your tabs, it also saves document titles, file paths, the active tab, and macOS file-access bookmarks in local app preferences. These bookmarks let the app reopen files you previously authorized. This information is not sent to Chor.
Unsaved drafts
Orri keeps recovery snapshots of unsaved Markdown text in its sandbox Application Support folder on your Mac. These include the document’s file path and macOS access bookmark. Drafts left after a save failure can be restored when you reopen Orri.
A snapshot is removed after a successful save or Save a Copy resolves the draft, or after you explicitly discard it or reload the file. This recovery feature does not upload or transmit document text.
Cloud folders, backups, and links
If you save a document in iCloud Drive or another synced folder, that service may upload it under its own settings and privacy policy. Your Mac or backup service may also include documents and local app data in backups. Orri does not operate these services.
When you choose to open an external link, your browser or another app handles the destination under its own privacy practices.
Analytics and diagnostics
Orri has no advertising, usage analytics, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. Apple may process and share system diagnostics according to your Mac’s settings. See Apple’s diagnostics privacy information.
This website
These pages are hosted on Vercel and delivered through Cloudflare. They process technical request information, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the website. This is separate from editing documents in Orri. Providers may process information outside your country; see the Vercel and Cloudflare privacy policies.
Your choices and support
You control your documents and can manage or delete them in Finder. Copies in synced folders and backups follow the settings of those services. There is no Orri account to delete, and Chor cannot access or delete documents stored only on your Mac.
If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and what you choose to send. We use this to respond and retain correspondence as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations. You can contact us with privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information you provided.
Policy updates
We will update this page and its effective date when Orri’s privacy practices change.
