Privacy policy

Effective

Mixtender is a cocktail recipe app from Chor, developed by Zhou Yu. You can browse its bundled collection and save favorites without an account. This policy explains the information used by Mixtender 1.3, its recipe service, and these product and policy pages.

Information on your device

Your favorites, saved recipe details, appearance preference, downloaded catalog, and image cache are stored on your device. Mixtender does not upload your favorites or settings to a developer account. Your device backup settings may allow Apple to include app data in an iCloud or computer backup.

Searching the bundled collection and matching your selected ingredients to that collection happen on your device. Mixtender does not request access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, advertising identifier, or health information.

Recipe updates and network requests

The app checks our Cloudflare-hosted service for catalog updates. You can also request an update by pulling down a recipe list. Cloudflare processes technical connection information, such as your IP address and request metadata, to deliver responses and protect the service. Your favorites are not included in catalog requests.

Optional AI recipe suggestions

When you run an ingredient search and the collection has no matching recipe, Mixtender automatically requests an AI suggestion. The request sends the ingredient names you selected to our Cloudflare service. That service sends those ingredients, together with recipe instructions, through Cloudflare AI Gateway and OpenRouter to an AI model provider. The current model is OpenAI GPT-4.1 mini. We do not attach your name, email address, favorites, device identifier, or IP address to the AI prompt.

We configure these AI requests to require providers offering zero data retention, disallow provider data collection, and disable AI Gateway prompt and response logging. Cloudflare still processes connection information to deliver the service and limit abusive requests. Providers may retain operational, billing, or security information under their own policies. These AI settings do not remove the recipe cache described below.

Validated suggestions may be cached on Cloudflare for up to seven days so the same ingredient combination can receive a saved result. The cache contains recipe information and is keyed by a hash of the selected ingredients, not by an account or device identifier. If you save a suggestion as a favorite, that copy stays on your device until you remove it.

You can use the bundled collection without requesting AI suggestions. To avoid sending an ingredient selection, browse the collection directly instead of running an ingredient search that has no catalog match.

Service providers and diagnostics

Cloudflare hosts the catalog and recipe service. OpenRouter routes AI requests to model providers. These product and privacy pages are hosted on Vercel and delivered through Cloudflare, which process technical request information, including IP addresses, to serve and protect the website.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Their privacy information is available from Cloudflare, OpenRouter, OpenAI, and Vercel.

Our recipe service records limited error codes for troubleshooting, without including the selected ingredients or your IP address in those application error messages. We do not add advertising, cross-app tracking, or behavioral analytics SDKs to Mixtender. We do not sell your personal information. Apple may process App Store or device diagnostics information according to your settings and its own privacy practices.

Sharing and contacting us

When you choose to share a recipe, iOS sends the content through the app or destination you select. That destination handles it under its own privacy policy.

If you email us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide. We use it to respond and handle your request, and retain correspondence as needed for that purpose and applicable legal obligations. Please do not include sensitive personal information in a support request.

Your choices and deletion

You can remove individual favorites in the app and clear downloaded images in Settings. Deleting Mixtender removes its local app data from the device; copies in backups are controlled through your Apple backup settings. There is no Mixtender account to delete. AI recipe cache entries expire within seven days.

For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, or delete information you provided to us, email [email protected]. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to receive a copy of your information, object to or restrict processing, or complain to your local data protection authority. We may ask for information needed to identify and handle your request. We cannot identify a person’s recipe cache entry from a Mixtender account because the app has no accounts.

Children

Mixtender is intended for adults of legal drinking age and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information so we can address it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its effective date when our privacy practices change. This policy is available from Mixtender’s Settings and at this address.
